A trailer released on October 27 and live events scheduled for October 29 and 30 have put Wonderful Neoran Valley back in the spotlight at Lucca Comics & Games. Created by independent Italian developer Nara Studio, the game combines creature collecting, turn-based tactics and a story that conceals darker themes beneath a bright exterior. Today’s news concerns new footage and festival appearances, not a launch or a newly playable demo.

Today at Lucca: LRNZ and Nara Studio create art live

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 12:00 to 13:00 at the Auditorium San Francesco, the programme includes «LRNZ x Wonderful Neoran Valley – Live Drawing a quattro mani». Illustrator Lorenzo Ceccotti (LRNZ), concept artist Umberto Mognetti and studio co-founders Francesco Cilurzo and Andrea Filippi are set to draw together while discussing the game’s distinctive visual development.

Lucca Comics & Games runs from October 28 to November 1. Nara Studio has a space in Sala Canova, stand CNV109, where visitors can meet the team. Some events may have ticket or capacity restrictions, so attendees should check the official organisers’ latest information.

Welcome to the Valley introduces the Knight and Iris

The October 27 trailer features the first encounter between the Knight, voiced in English by Troy Baker, and the dragon Iris, voiced by Ben Starr. It blends cinematic storytelling with PC-captured gameplay. The protagonists appear to form an uneasy bond, while the Valley’s bright scenery hints at something threatening underneath.

On Friday, October 30, from 16:30 to 17:30, the Teatro del Giglio is due to host a trailer watch party followed by a developer discussion and audience questions. This is not the video’s online premiere: it can already be watched on the official channel.

The tactical twist: plan seven turns ahead

The Knight can foresee a timeline of the next seven turns, allowing players to coordinate Neoran abilities and anticipate enemy moves. Synapses can alter this plan during combat preparation. The order of actions, party composition and limited resources thus become a strategic problem rather than a test of raw strength alone.

Nara Studio has described 85 distinct Neoran, each with personal emotions, goals and motivations. They are not merely monsters to capture. Players must understand their wishes and persuade them to join the party, so dialogue shapes how a team is built.

A darker mystery beneath a charming surface

Aberrations known as Neura Clusters are corrupting the Valley. Roguelite runs promise discoveries across new environments, conversations and encounters. The juxtaposition of expressive creature designs and unsettling horror themes is one of the project’s most unusual ideas, although its full execution remains untested.

The Kickstarter campaign attracted more than €900,000 in pledges. Nara Studio currently targets a 2028 release for PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The Steam listing allows wishlists but does not advertise a playable demo at this time. Release plans can change.
