adidas x Wales Bonner FW26: Sneakers, Tailoring and October 29 Drop

October 28 is a day for looking ahead to the next streetwear release. adidas Originals and Wales Bonner announced their Fall/Winter 2026 collection on October 27, with a global launch set for Thursday, October 29. This is more than a set of fresh sneaker colorways: the partnership reinterprets familiar sportswear through tailored proportions, tactile materials and cultural references.

The official announcement covers shoes, jackets, tracksuits, knitwear, T-shirts and accessories. Its design language places craftsmanship and surface treatments ahead of oversized graphics. Photographer Harley Weir created the accompanying campaign, drawing inspiration from the collision of music, identity and youth cultures in 1980s London.

A shared archive, interpreted for the present

Grace Wales Bonner revisits the visual codes developed through her ongoing collaboration with adidas Originals. The Three Stripes are still part of the picture, but leather, suede and considered construction give established silhouettes a different presence. The collection lives in the space between sporting history and an approach to cultural luxury.

That combination matters to contemporary streetwear. A track top can become part of a carefully composed outfit; a leather jacket can sit naturally above loose athletic pants. Personal style is communicated through shape, material and contrast rather than relying exclusively on a prominent logo.

Four sneaker stories, each led by materials

The WB Karintha returns in dark-brown crocodile-embossed leather, finished with brushed-gold eyelets. Its recognizable silhouette gains a more formal character through the upper alone. The result could work as well with understated knitwear and tailored trousers as with a relaxed sports-inspired outfit.

The WB Gazelle Snake takes a shoe rooted in indoor football and wraps it in vivid green crocodile-stamped leather. The finish brings a distinctive visual rhythm to a well-known adidas shape. It is a clear example of how a change in texture can move athletic footwear into a lifestyle wardrobe without hiding where it came from.

The WB ADIZERO Adios Suede revisits an adidas running silhouette for everyday wear. A fully suede upper and custom, craft-inspired Three Stripes reshape the impression of the shoe. Its running heritage remains visible, but the construction now speaks more directly to fashion and personal expression.

The lineup is completed by the first WB BW Pony styles. This minimal silhouette receives pony-hair uppers and contrasting lizard-print leather overlays, lending an expressive surface to an otherwise restrained design. Together, the four footwear ideas make materiality the true signature of the collection.

A leather blouson at the center of the wardrobe

The standout apparel piece is a premium leather blouson in Wales Bonner’s distinctive bark tone. Crochet side stripes and subtly embossed tonal branding give it character without overwhelming the shape. It combines the confidence of outerwear with the ease associated with sportswear.

Elsewhere, the collection includes a double-knit jersey tracksuit, a pinstripe track top with matching shorts, a collared football top with coordinating trousers, stirrup-detail track pants, a knitted long-sleeve and dual-logo T-shirts. The pieces are designed for contrasting combinations: a polished jacket beside relaxed pants or pinstripes paired with textured sneakers.

Accessories extend that same idea into daily use. A neoprene bag features crocodile-inspired panels, while a lanyard and two pairs of socks complete the assortment. They may be smaller items, but they help express the collection’s consistent attention to surfaces and everyday gestures.

Harley Weir and the energy of 1980s London

Harley Weir’s campaign looks to London in the 1980s, a period when distinct cultural movements helped generate new ways of dressing. adidas explicitly frames the collection around identity, community and youthful expression. The imagery evokes those influences without reducing the decade to a costume or a nostalgic reference.

From an editorial perspective, FW26 demonstrates the value of revisiting an archive instead of copying it. Change the leather, adjust the fit or place tailoring next to a sports uniform, and the meaning of the original piece begins to shift. That is what makes this partnership relevant beyond sneaker collecting.

Release date and official shopping channels

adidas confirms Thursday, October 29, 2026 as the worldwide launch date, with availability planned through adidas.com, the CONFIRMED app and selected retailers. Exact stock and sizes can vary by market. The October 27 announcement does not provide a complete price list, so local product pages are the best place to verify pricing once the drop goes live.

The distinction is worth keeping clear: October 27 was the announcement date, while October 29 is the scheduled retail launch. Anyone planning to shop the collection should check the relevant channel on release day for real-time regional availability.

Independent creativity and collectibles from Smart GFX

The relationship between clothing, identity and storytelling also runs through independent projects. At Smart GFX, it takes different forms: the EXOCK hoodie for graphic streetwear, a digital bundle of ten THE SIGNAL cards for serial storytelling, and the THE SIGNAL // ORIGIN 01/12 coin for a tangible piece of that universe.

The THE SIGNAL // ORIGIN 01/12 artwork is also available as canvas, framed paper and aluminium. Each format changes the same design’s presence: fabric adds texture, framing gives it a gallery-like setting, and metal creates a more architectural surface. These are existing products from the independent Smart GFX store, not items from the adidas range.

Editorial disclosure: Smart GFX is independent and has no partnership, sponsorship, endorsement or affiliation with adidas, Wales Bonner or any other organization featured in this article. The linked products are our own separate creative offerings.
