Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Is Out — Norgan and 12 Dungeons

Capcom launched Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on October 9, 2026. The expansion takes Arisen to the snowy region of Norgan, introduces twelve Lost Rites dungeons, new relics and more ways to customize the protagonist and Pawns. This is not merely a cosmetic add-on: it opens a new story arc and creates a dedicated exploration loop.

Norgan's frozen front introduces new dangers and new targets.

Norgan is the heart of the new adventure

The Forsaken Dominion leads into a long-abandoned northern territory. Here the Arisen meets Eir, a character linked to the Fallen Dragon mystery. The stated objective is to recover and assess forgotten relics. They are not just trophies, since they can unlock new weapons and abilities that support progression.

This setup reinforces one of Dragon's Dogma 2's strongest features: reading the terrain, preparing your party and accepting that each expedition might depart from the plan. Snow, ruins and vertical environments give Norgan an identity distinct from the base game's areas.

Twelve Lost Rites to put your party to the test

The second major addition is Lost Rites, a collection of twelve dungeons. Capcom presents them as Pathfinder trials built around rare equipment once owned by Arisen of the past. The promise is clear: focused challenges, legendary rewards and a practical reason to rethink vocations, abilities and Pawn party composition.

The value of these dungeons will depend on enemy variety, layouts and fighting conditions. The launch still offers a clear structure: a new region for the story, twelve trials for the endgame, and rewards that encourage further expeditions.

More freedom in character creation

Dark Arisen expands the Character Creator with additional hairstyles and tattoos. It is less dramatic than Norgan, but meaningful in a game where the Arisen's and Pawns' identities shape the adventure. The new options are available for the protagonist and AI-controlled companions alike.

Platforms and base game requirements

Capcom's official information lists Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. On PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC the expansion requires Dragon's Dogma 2; the Nintendo Switch 2 release instead bundles the original game and Dark Arisen. The PlayStation and Steam listings advise players to update their game before accessing the new content.

Why the launch matters

Dark Arisen has a clear ambition: make returning to Dragon's Dogma 2 feel like a real expedition rather than an extended map. Norgan provides a new narrative setting; Lost Rites organizes the challenges; and relics, weapons and abilities connect exploration with growth.

For existing players, the crucial question is how far the new activities change the pace of the endgame. For newcomers on Nintendo Switch 2, this is the first chance to take on the entire adventure in one edition.
