Forza Horizon 6 Comes to PS5 January 26: Cross-Save and 60 FPS
Forza Horizon 6 finally has a PlayStation 5 release date. Playground Games announced on October 8, 2026 that the racing festival will arrive on PS5 on January 26, 2027, with early access starting January 21 for Premium Edition owners. This is more than an isolated port: cross-play, cross-save and user-created content will work across PS5, Xbox and Steam.
Release date, editions and the PS5 port studio
The Standard and Deluxe Editions launch on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027. Premium Edition players can start January 21, five days earlier. The PS5 version is developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios. Alongside digital copies, a physical release is planned at participating retailers.
The official trailer was captured on a standard PS5 in Quality mode, delivering 4K resolution at 30 frames per second. Players who prioritize smoother action can select Performance mode at 60 FPS.
Cross-play, cross-save and creativity without barriers
The most significant part of the announcement is continuity between platforms. Multiplayer supports cross-play with Xbox and Steam, while cross-save lets you continue the same career across systems. User-generated content is shared too: EventLab races, Prefabs, Garages and Estates, liveries and tuning setups can circulate throughout the ecosystem.
The game offers more than 550 cars and takes the festival to Japan. Preordering any edition rewards players with a pre-tuned Ferrari J50, unlocked after the prologue.
Premium Edition, first expansion and a free update
The first Premium expansion also arrives on January 21, 2027 across all platforms. Around the same time, Playground Games will release a free update for every player, with details coming later. The PS5 launch therefore brings additional content to the existing Xbox and PC communities too.
Which edition should you choose?
Standard is the straightforward choice for entering the festival on January 26. Deluxe expands the base package, while Premium emphasizes early access and additional content. Before buying, check the final content list in your platform's store, especially the distinction between the complete Premium Edition and the Premium Upgrade.
