HOKA x BEAMS Bondi 7: Zen Camouflage Hits Japan Today
The Bondi 7 returns to the lifestyle spotlight with the first official collaboration between HOKA and BEAMS. After an early release in Harajuku on August 7, the shoe reaches participating BEAMS and BEAMS BOY stores and the Japanese online shop on August 8. HOKA’s global launch follows on August 14.
Two camouflage patterns inspired by zen gardens
BEAMS reworks the Bondi 7’s maximalist shape with two tonal patterns. Turtledove/Tidal Foam explores pale stone and off-white shades, while Chestnut/Black Bean moves toward charcoal and black. The stated inspiration includes moss, karesansui shadows and the wood grain of Japanese temples. HOKA and BEAMS logos are absorbed into the pattern, while contrasting insoles make the co-branding more visible.
The technical platform stays the same
Under the visual treatment, this remains the Bondi 7: open-mesh upper, TPU overlays, memory-foam collar, full-length EVA midsole and MetaRocker geometry. That contrast between a running platform and Japanese streetwear language is what makes the project interesting. It is not a new performance shoe, but a lifestyle reinterpretation of a familiar base.
Confirmed dates and availability
The verified schedule is August 7 for the Harajuku early release, August 8 for BEAMS/BEAMS BOY distribution in Japan and online, and August 14 for the global launch through HOKA and selected retailers. Europe and the UK are listed at €175 / £155. A complete international retailer list had not been announced at publication time, so availability should not be assumed in every market.
