Nike JA 4 Launches Today: The “Nightmare” Brings Basketball Into Streetwear
Today, August 13, 2026, Nike officially launches the JA 4 worldwide, the fourth signature shoe for Ja Morant. The release sits between performance basketball and sneaker culture: the debut “Nightmare” colorway turns the idea of an impossible-to-contain player into a visual identity, while the construction changes in meaningful ways from the JA 3.
What really changes in the JA 4
Nike confirms a new TPU JA-Frame structure that wraps the foot during cuts and changes of direction, a Cushlon 3.0 midsole and a supercritical-foam SPRPWR sockliner. The traction pattern has been redesigned for quick movement, while foam side ridges add protection and durability.
For streetwear fans, the visual language is just as important. The vertical Swoosh becomes part of the functional frame, while the JA logo and references to Morant’s former jersey number connect back to Twelve Time Basketball.
