Nike x Outkast x Georgia: Varsity Jackets and Jerseys Drop October 27
Atlanta brings the music; Athens brings the football legacy. Nike, Outkast and the University of Georgia are joining forces on Outkast U, a streetwear collection that draws on much more than an eye-catching co-branded logo. Created with the team at Class Trip, the capsule begins rolling out October 27, 2026, turning the visual history of Southern hip-hop into varsity outerwear, jerseys and everyday sportswear.
Nike announced the project on October 26. The release is staggered, rather than an instant worldwide launch of every item: the first phase is planned for SNKRS, Class Trip and selected Atlanta Nike retail partners on October 27. The full collection is scheduled to follow on October 28 through Nike.com and select retailers, subject to local availability.
Atlanta, Athens and a shared cultural memory
The collaboration has a specific backdrop. On October 31, Georgia and Florida are set to play their long-running college football rivalry in Atlanta for the first time. That places the team associated with Athens in the city that shaped Outkast's musical identity, giving the project a genuine connection between place and creative influence.
Class Trip and Nike looked to the personal wardrobes of André 3000 and Big Boi while working with Georgia and the Outkast team. The Bulldogs' red and black palette meets collegiate details and hip-hop references, but the resulting clothes are meant to reflect lived history rather than function as generic fan gear.

The varsity jacket anchors a broader wardrobe
The standout is a red wool varsity jacket with black leather sleeves, chenille patches and chain-stitch embroidery. The apparel lineup also includes football jerseys, rugby shirts, a satin bomber, a heavyweight fleece hoodie and Max90 graphic T-shirts. Snapbacks and other headwear round out a set of pieces designed to work together.
What makes the drop worth watching from a streetwear perspective is its range of fabrics and proportions. Structured varsity outerwear contrasts with soft fleece; a mesh jersey becomes a layering piece; graphic tees connect the story to casual dressing. It looks closer to a thoughtfully styled wardrobe than a one-off game-day uniform.

Why the number 96 is everywhere
The number 96 and the words «University of Georgia, Outkast 1996» appear across the collection. They refer both to the year Outkast released ATLiens and to the period when Kirby Smart, now Georgia's head coach, was playing in the Bulldogs' defensive backfield.
Another distinctive element combines Georgia's G with Outkast's crown. The merged symbol appears on apparel and accessories, offering a visual shorthand for the partnership. These details matter because they give the graphics a story a wearer can understand, rather than depending entirely on the names of the collaborators.

A campaign connecting athletes and musicians
Nike photographed six Georgia NIL athletes in Athens: Ellis Robinson IV, KJ Bolden, Chris Cole, Kaiden Prothro, Elyiss Williams and Talyn Taylor. The images revisit familiar frames from Outkast's photographic history, putting a new generation of players into an established cultural narrative.
The partnership also extends onto the field through sideline apparel and performance accessories created exclusively for Georgia players, coaches and staff. Those items are not necessarily part of the public retail release, an important distinction when looking at product photos or interpreting the complete campaign.

Where to shop and what happens next
Nike's schedule identifies three dates. October 27 is the first launch through SNKRS, Class Trip and selected retail partners in Atlanta. October 28 brings the planned wider release through Nike.com and select stores. A game-day pop-up is scheduled for October 31 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during Georgia versus Florida.
Customers outside the United States should check their local official Nike channels before assuming every style will be sold in their region. Beyond launch-day attention, Outkast U shows what collaborative streetwear can do at its best: put music, sports history and a sense of place into garments with their own visual language.

Independent Smart GFX picks: wear and display your own story
For readers drawn to expressive streetwear, Smart GFX offers a separate creative perspective: the EXOCK hoodie uses bold urban graphics, THE SIGNAL // 02 ECHO canvas explores resonance and communication, and the THE PULSE 12.02 — La musica che trabocca mug turns a love of music into a daily object.
These are independent Smart GFX products, not official Nike, Outkast, University of Georgia or Class Trip merchandise. Smart GFX is not claiming any commercial partnership with the subjects of this article.
