City 20: Untold Games brings its Italian survival sandbox to the final day of TGS 2026
Tokyo Game Show 2026 closes today, September 21, and Milan-based Untold Games is among the eleven studios inside the official Italy Pavilion. The event gives the team an international stage for City 20, its Early Access survival sandbox that continues to evolve toward version 1.0.
Untold Games brings City 20 to the final day of TGS
The Italian Trade Agency lists Untold Games among the eleven Italian exhibitors in Hall 5, Booth 05-C07. The show runs from September 17 to 21, 2026, making today its final public day. City 20 is the studio’s flagship original project, developed and published directly by Untold Games.
A city that reacts to player choices
City 20 is designed as a persistent post-apocalyptic ecosystem. NPCs follow routines, work, eat and rest, while factions pursue long-term goals of their own. Trust, conflict and player decisions can reshape relationships and opportunities. Survival, crafting, property ownership, farming and restoration of the electrical grid all feed into the same simulation.
The road to version 1.0
The official Steam page says City 20 remains in active development. Untold Games estimates roughly one more year of work to fully realize its vision for version 1.0. Beyond balancing and polish, the team is adding mechanics, systems, lore and narrative content. Its August 31 Dev Diary also points to changes in the city layout and groundwork for larger progression systems.
Why this Italian indie is worth watching
City 20 represents an interesting direction for Italy’s indie scene: the focus is not only on the amount of content, but on simulating consequences. TGS gives Untold Games a global setting to present that philosophy to publishers, investors, media and Asian players while the project continues to grow.
