Date A Live F Last Date: New Trailer and March 26, 2027 Theatrical Release
The countdown finally has a date. During Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai on October 25, 2026, KADOKAWA unveiled a new trailer and the second teaser visual for Date A Live F Last Date, confirming a March 26, 2027 release in Japanese theaters. This is not a sixth television season: the new chapter is a theatrical film and is being presented as the animated conclusion to Shido Itsuka and Tohka Yatogami’s story.

A film, not Date A Live Season 6
The announcement resolves the format left open when the project was first confirmed. F Last Date will screen in Japanese theaters from March 26, 2027. No runtime, international distributor, overseas window or streaming platform has been announced. The date therefore applies only to Japan.
The second teaser visual is much more ominous than its predecessor, placing Inverse Tohka in front of broken stained glass. The trailer also opens with her and introduces newly animated cuts, pointing to a final conflict that is as emotional as it is spectacular.

Where the story resumes
The official website sets the film after the defeat of Isaac Westcott and DEM and after Mio Takamiya’s death. The world appears to have reached a balance in which humans and Spirits can coexist, but a truth revealed by Raziel calls that peace into question. Shido and the girls must face the final obstacle standing between them and a shared future.
F Last Date continues the main storyline after five TV seasons and is not being positioned as a recap or spin-off. Its subtitle and official messaging stress finality, although the runtime and exact scope of the adaptation have not yet been announced.

Staff: Junji Nishimura directs at Studio Fugaku
Junji Nishimura directs the film. Fumihiko Shimo writes the screenplay, Naoto Nakamura handles character design and Studio Fugaku produces the animation. ANIMEC is distributing the film in Japan. The original light novels are written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako for KADOKAWA’s Fantasia Bunko label.
Shimo and Nakamura provide creative continuity with Date A Live IV and V, while Nishimura and Fugaku define the film’s new production setup. A concluding film with such a large ensemble must preserve both narrative clarity and emotional weight.

The principal cast returns
Nobunaga Shimazaki returns as Shido and Marina Inoue as Tohka. The cast also includes Misuzu Togashi (Origami), Ayana Taketatsu (Kotori), Iori Nomizu (Yoshino), Asami Sanada (Kurumi), Maaya Uchida (Kaguya), Sarah Emi Bridcutt (Yuzuru), Minori Chihara (Miku), Ayumi Mano (Natsumi), Hitomi Nabatame (Nia), Akari Kageyama (Mukuro) and Aya Endo (Mio).

What remains unconfirmed
The runtime, complete theater list, screenings outside Japan, dubbed versions and digital platforms remain unannounced. For now, the firm detail is simple: Date A Live F Last Date opens in Japanese theaters on March 26, 2027.
