Dune: Awakening Arrives on Xbox with Single-Player and Game Pass
Dune: Awakening launched on September 22, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Its Microsoft ecosystem debut comes with a major update: Funcom has added a complete single-player mode, concluded the Book One storyline and expanded the options for players who want to explore Arrakis without depending on PvP.

A complete single-player experience
The new solo mode includes the entire game, its missions, base building and progression. Players can choose from three difficulty presets or individually adjust sandstorms, harvesting and XP multipliers, item durability and building limits. Private servers also offer customization, although the available settings can vary by provider.

Book One can now be played from start to finish
The Great Convention Part III delivers the final chapter of Book One, allowing the campaign to be completed in one continuous run for the first time. Existing story missions now award additional rewards, including weapon and armour variants, swatches and decorations for player bases.

Characters, bases and vehicles travel together
Funcom has put the character at the centre of progression: backed-up bases and vehicles can travel between different worlds. That matters for players moving between solo sessions, private servers and public spaces because it reduces the feeling of starting over.

Improved combat, optional PvP and a more accessible endgame
The parry window has been increased, NPC animations and enemy AI have been improved, and stamina and heavy attacks have been rebalanced. Dual Blades and the Pyrocket are new, while the Rapier has been redesigned around parrying. Every part of the game can now be played entirely in PvE without losing access to mechanics or rewards.

Landsraad, specializations and new locations
The Landsraad has been rebuilt as a mission-driven endgame that works in multiplayer PvE and single-player, with twenty progression ranks. Arrakis gains seven mission locations and six Imperial Testing Stations. A specialization system covers crafting, gathering, exploration, combat and sabotage, while Augments add modifiers to unique Tier 6 weapons and armour.
Performance and platforms
Xbox Series X|S offers a Performance mode targeting 60fps at dynamic 4K and a Quality mode targeting 30fps at dynamic 4K. Series X renders at a higher native resolution and adds enhanced visuals. Xbox Play Anywhere with shared progression, Game Pass and Cloud Gaming are supported. Full cross-play is planned after launch, but Funcom has not announced a precise date.
What comes next
Polar Cap is scheduled as a free update later in 2026, adding a new survival map, an icy biome, resources, loot, craftable items and a standalone storyline. More film-related cosmetics are also planned, while the Filmic Archive DLC is available alongside the Xbox launch.
