Hunter’s Moon Is Out on PS5: A Witch Hunt Unfolds in One Night
Hunter’s Moon launches today, October 26, 2026, on PS5 across Europe. Twin Swans’ debut is a first-person narrative folk-horror game set in 17th-century England. Lilith Thorne has been accused of witchcraft and must cross a village, surrounding forests and moorland without being caught. The game arrived in North America on October 25; the official date for the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand is October 26.

One night, three pursuers
The story unfolds during a single full-moon night. Lilith is hunted by the Witchfinder General, the village magistrate and a local huntsman. She is not built for open confrontation: caution, darkness and knowing when to hide are central to surviving the night.
The game is strictly single-player and supports offline play. The PlayStation Store also confirms DualSense vibration and PS5 Pro enhancement, although no specific resolution or frame-rate targets have been detailed.

Eavesdropping is the central mechanic
The most distinctive idea is covert listening. By approaching windows, Lilith can overhear conversations and reconstruct the villagers’ relationships, fears and secrets. Information may warn of danger, suggest an escape route or lead to useful objects and advice. The village becomes a large interactive stage rather than a simple chain of corridors.
Twin Swans says the game features more than one hundred fully voiced characters. They are designed to create the feeling of a community worn down by war, superstition and suspicion. Players must separate reliable voices from accusations and fears that feed the hunt.

Historical horror without easy monsters
The creative direction does not automatically turn the accused woman into a supernatural witch. Hunter’s Moon instead looks to real persecutions in 17th-century England and Matthew Hopkins, the self-styled Witchfinder General. Its central question is more uncomfortable: what happens when ordinary people, convinced by their fears, become the real threat?
Writer-director Alicia Contestabile began developing the idea in 2019. She founded Twin Swans to turn it into a game, assembling developers whose credits include The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, The Witcher 3 and Signalis.

Platform and accessibility
Hunter’s Moon is available exclusively on PS5; no PC, Xbox or PS4 version has been announced. The PlayStation Store lists twelve accessibility features, including separate volume controls, 3D audio, large subtitles, stick inversion and the ability to play without rapid presses, simultaneous inputs, motion controls, touch controls, vibration or adaptive trigger effects.
The game can also be paused during narrative scenes. That choice fits an experience built around observing and listening, where missing a spoken line could mean missing an important clue.
