Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart Premieres October 5 With New Key Visual
Magical Girl Raising Project: Restart Returns October 5 With an Ensemble Key Visual
The return of Magical Girl Raising Project now has a precise date and an image that communicates the sequel’s scale. On September 18, the production released a new Restart key visual and confirmed that Japanese broadcasts begin on October 5, 2026.
The anime will air on TV Tokyo, BS Fuji and AT-X, along with other outlets listed by the production. A complete international schedule has not been announced, so the confirmed Japanese window should be kept separate from any still-unconfirmed European availability.

The New Key Visual Puts the Ensemble First
The latest image is more than a routine group portrait. It presents a much larger ensemble than the first season and sets up a new survival game. Masako Ito, Atsuko Ishida and Kazuhiko Tamura are credited among the visual staff behind the composition.
Restart revisits the franchise almost ten years after the first anime. Its contrast between magical-girl aesthetics and ruthless rules remains, but the new arc moves the action into an RPG-like world where identities and alliances become part of the mystery.

Premiere Date, Channels and Confirmed Details
The premiere is set for October 5, 2026. TV Tokyo, BS Fuji and AT-X are confirmed. Detailed airtimes, international streaming platforms and European dubs were not included in the September 18 announcement.
That distinction matters: a trailer or coverage on a Western platform is not automatically a simulcast confirmation. For now, the hard facts are the Japanese TV launch and the promotional phase opened by the new key visual.

The Creative Core Returns, the Studio Changes
Hiroyuki Hashimoto returns as director, while Takao Yoshioka handles series composition and scripts. Masako Ito is character designer and Satoki Iida directs the sound. Animation is produced by SynergySP, one of the most important changes from the 2016 series.
The theme songs are also confirmed. Minori Chihara performs the opening “No tears here,” with lyrics by Aki Hata and music and arrangement by Q-MHz. Daisy×Daisy performs the ending “ReMind,” composed and arranged by Shinya Saito.

Why Restart Is More Than a Second Season
The project adapts the Restart arc from Asari Endo’s novels, based on Maruino’s original character concepts. The cast includes Honoka Inoue as Pechka, Yoshino Nanjō as Pfle, Reina Kondo as Shadow Gale, Aoi Yūki as Lapis Lazuline, Maaya Uchida as Magical Daisy and Nao Tōyama as Snow White.
For viewers who only know the 2016 anime, Restart therefore promises a structural shift rather than a simple repeat. The new visual makes that argument clearly: more characters, more narrative fronts and a mystery built around the rules of a new project.
