Reborn as a Space Mercenary: New Trailer, Premiere and Streaming Schedule
On September 15, 2026, the official website for Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship! released its main trailer and a new key visual. The video features the first preview of UNSTOPPABLE, the opening theme by FLOW, and adds Shoko and Mei to the previously announced cast. With only weeks to go before the premiere, this is a substantial production update rather than a routine reminder.
The main trailer puts the space opera front and center
The trailer defines the show's blend of space combat, comedy and life aboard a ship. Office worker Takahiro Sato awakens inside the world of his favorite science-fiction game, already in possession of the top-tier starship Krishna. Renaming himself Captain Hiro, he chooses life as a mercenary. His unusually practical long-term goal is to earn enough money to buy a detached home with a garden on a planet.
From video game to mercenary life
The material also gives the crew room to breathe. Mimi becomes the ship's operator after Hiro rescues her; Elma is a space elf with five years of mercenary experience; Serena Halls is an officer in the stellar system military. Mei is a custom maidroid built for security, analysis and domestic work. Shoko, voiced by Kana Ueda, and Mei, voiced by Saori Onishi, are the two additions highlighted in the September 15 announcement.
Two new characters and a specialist production team
Norihiko Nagahama directs, with Takamitsu Kono handling series composition and Masami Sueoka designing the characters. The A-CAT design team is credited for the mechanical work, studio A-CAT produces the animation, and Kenta Higashioji composes the score. ASTERISM performs the ending theme MY WAY, while FLOW's UNSTOPPABLE drives the new trailer.
When and where the series premieres
The Japanese premiere is set for Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 9:30 p.m. on TOKYO MX, followed by BS11 at 11:00 p.m. Yomiuri TV starts October 6 and Chukyo TV on October 10; WOWOW and AT-X are also confirmed. d Anime Store and ABEMA will carry the fastest same-time stream from October 4 at 9:30 p.m. Other Japanese services begin October 9 at 9:30 p.m.
The official site has not yet published a complete European schedule or confirmed Italian and German dubs. Crunchyroll previously included the title in its international 2026 slate, but regional availability and timing can differ.
