After covering the Italian pavilion as a whole yesterday, today we zoom in on one of its strangest and most distinctive projects: Splatchinko. It is developed by Milan indie studio Stupidi Pixel, founded by Fabio Taurisano, who handles design, code, pixel art, animation and music as a solo developer.

Pachinko, roguelite systems and absurd love

Splatchinko mixes pachinko, roguelite progression, turn-based choices, physics and dark comedy. Players launch Eyes through chaotic boards, unlock mutations and build increasingly wild combinations while chasing a kidnapped beloved across unstable planets.

Editorial break for AdSense Auto Ads

This change of section creates a natural break where AdSense Auto Ads can place advertising without any manually embedded ad code.

One developer, a very clear identity

The official press kit identifies Fabio Taurisano as lead developer. Each Eye changes bounces, damage and abilities, while procedural planets reshape routes and encounters. Pixel art and surreal humor give the project a strong visual signature.

Why Tokyo matters

Splatchinko is part of the Italian presence at Tokyo Game Show 2026. For a project built almost entirely by one person, an international showcase puts a distinctive Italian creative voice in front of players, press and potential Asian partners. The PC release is planned for 2026 and a Steam demo is already available.

Second editorial break
