SURI: The Seventh Note Is Out Now on PS5 and PC
SURI: The Seventh Note launched on October 30, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. The debut game from Bengaluru-based Tathvamasi Studios is a two-dimensional action platformer in which jumps, dashes, obstacles and chase sequences are directly tied to the rhythm of the soundtrack.
The release brings one of the PlayStation India Hero Project titles to market. It follows Ajira, a girl crossing an island whose natural harmony is breaking down while she searches for a fruit that can save her mother from the same illness that killed her father.

A platformer played like an instrument
Music in SURI is not background decoration. The world responds to the player’s precision: running, jumping, dashing and using powers at the right moment preserves momentum, while missing the beat breaks the flow. Tathvamasi Studios settled on roughly 480 milliseconds between the main beats, aiming to balance rhythmic clarity with responsive controls.

India is more than a backdrop
The art direction combines Rajput forts, Theyyam culture, Himalayan monasteries and other regional traditions in a fully hand-drawn fantasy world. Instrumentation changes with the biomes too: a veena accompanies southern areas, while desert regions draw on Rajasthan’s musical traditions. Game Director Glen Martin says roughly 80 percent of the score was recorded with real analogue instruments and layered over a structure influenced by hip-hop.

Ajira and an island falling ill
The search for a cure begins as a personal journey and grows into a mission to restore balance to the entire island. Ajira’s abilities evolve during the adventure, expanding both movement and combat. Escape sequences are built like interactive songs, with environments, hazards and animations shifting alongside the music.

PS5 and PC: What is confirmed
On PS5, the game supports one player, offline play and the DualSense wireless controller’s vibration function. Steam lists single-player support, achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. Official storefronts list interface and subtitle support in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese and Thai.

A debut worth watching
SURI: The Seventh Note arrives after four years of development with a distinct identity. Rather than placing Indian motifs on top of a conventional platformer, it tries to align visual culture, traditional instruments and game rules. The result is aimed at players who enjoy precision movement, hidden paths and chase sequences composed around musical timing.
