The Alighieri Circle: Italian indie ONE-O-ONE GAMES turns Dante into psychological horror
Just days after its September 10 launch, The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline puts Rome-based independent studio ONE-O-ONE GAMES in the spotlight. The first-person psychological thriller reframes Dante’s Divine Comedy as a family nightmare, prioritising atmosphere, exploration and narrative over combat.

An inner Hell, not an action horror
Gabriele Alighieri inherits the duty of sealing the gates of Hell once again. Every 33 years the barrier between realities weakens, and the ritual forces him back to his ancestral villa, where lost pages, diaries and bloodline secrets reconstruct a fractured family history.

The Villa and the Dive: two converging realities
The game alternates between the melancholic Villa and the Dive, an infernal distortion tied to Gabriele’s psyche. There is no combat: tension comes from the spaces, esoteric puzzles and what the story deliberately leaves unsaid.

An Italian project available now
ONE-O-ONE GAMES is an Italian development company based in Rome. The Alighieri Circle is available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; its official Steam page lists September 10, 2026 as the release date. Italian interface, subtitles and full audio are supported.

Why it is worth watching
It is a striking example of an Italian team turning a huge cultural reference like Dante into a contemporary, personal game without falling back on standard demon-slaying imagery. The central idea is that Hell can be an internal condition as much as a place.
